A good 'ole favorite you can't be without is a great instant messenger. I've used many in the past but I have actually found Yahoo's IM bearable when it comes to interuptting my work online. A simple little beep let's me know I have new Gmail(yes and Ymail) and I can quickly respond to twitter following or other blo discussion's I might be involved in.This desktop widget is a no-brainer.
